PDT – Psychodynamic therapy

What is PDT?

Psychodynamic therapy (PDT) is a form of therapy that focuses on understanding the internal patterns that affect how you think, feel and act – especially in relationships. Often these patterns are unconscious and have developed early in life, but can continue to create difficulties into adulthood.

PDT explores how past experiences shape current ways of dealing with emotions, relationships and life situations. The therapist helps you to see these patterns more clearly, which in turn can make it easier to understand yourself and change what no longer works.

PDT is used for depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-criticism, stress and life crises – but also when you want to understand yourself on a deeper level.

What is it like to work with PDT?

Psychodynamic therapy gives you the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings in conversation with a therapist who listens actively and curiously. The therapy is based on what feels important to you, but can also help you discover things you have not been aware of yourself.

The conversations are often characterized by reflection, contemplation and an exploration of how you relate to others – and to yourself. The pace is individual and the process may take time, but can lead to deeper insights and lasting change.

PDT is suitable for those who want to understand more about themselves and their patterns, and who seek change through deeper self-awareness.

A warm welcome to you!
